Domaine Christophe Semaska

Christophe Semaska’s story is associated with the revival of a great Côte-Rôtie wine domaine in 1988: Château de Montlys, a jewel that had come through the French Revolution in 1789 unscathed. Christophe Semaska had not planned to become a wine producer, but his passion for fine wines and their history led him to Chateau de Montlys. This 16th-century wine domaine sits on a hillside facing the Rhone River. It is in an ideal location for growing Côte-Rôtie vines and is still the largest privately-owned domaine in Côte-Rôtie today. To ensure that the story of love and passion for his terroir continues to burn as brightly as ever, Christophe Semaka, supported by his wife Francoise and their two children Clement and Floriane, pours all his know-how into every aspect of the winemaking process to achieve excellence.
