Domaine Jocelyne & Yves Lafoy has had its roots in the village of Ampuis, in the heart of the Côte Rôtie vineyards, for three generations. The wine domaine, founded in 1993 (a wet and difficult year), was created by Yves, who was able to demonstrate all his winemaking talent.
Yves and Jocelyne’s eldest son, Gaëtan, joined his parents on the domaine at the end of 2011. His first vintage, in 2012, required patience and vigilance to deal with some challenging weather conditions in the spring. However, his efforts were rewarded and the return of fine weather at the end of the summer meant that the grapes were harvested in perfect condition. This vintage, resulting from the combination of the father’s experience and the son’s youth, was a great success.
Yves and Gaëtan like to create elegant, fine and complex wines that fully express their terroir. The vines are worked with respect for the soil, enabling Yves and Gaëtan to create wines that they love to see people enjoying.
