Louis Cheze

The family wine estate was taken over by Louis Chèze in 1978. It sits at the top of the hill in the commune of Limony, on the right bank of the Rhône River, in the heart of the Northern Côtes du Rhône wine region, 60 km south of Lyon. At the start of the adventure, Louis Chèze owned 1 hectare of Saint Joseph and a few leased vines. Today, the estate extends over 35 hectares, producing prestigious AOCs such as Condrieu and Saint Joseph as well as Vin de Pays. Louis’ determination, inquisitive nature and passion for wine are at the heart of his vineyard management methods and winemaking ethos. He views each vintage as an opportunity to rethink the approach he should take to draw out the very best out of his terroirs. Louis is currently passing on his knowledge to his children Camille and Benoît, who will take over the running of the estate.
